Focus and scope of the journal
Manatti: Journal of Multi-disciplinary Research focuses on publishing research that spans various disciplines. It aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and provide a platform for scholars to share innovative ideas and findings. The journal typically covers areas such as Social sciences, Humanities, Natural sciences, Technology, Education, Management, etc.. By bringing together diverse perspectives, Manatti seeks to address complex problems and contribute to knowledge across fields.

Manatti is a biannual journal (except for any special issues)
Open Access Policy
All articles, including editorials published in Manatti, are immediately open-access, which makes the content freely available to the public on the internet.
All the published documents in Manatti can be distributed under the terms and conditions of the Creative Commons Attribution (CC-BY) license (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/). The Licensees may copy, distribute, display, and perform the work and make derivative works and remixes based on it only if they give the author the credits (attribution) in the manner specified by these
The journal can also offer a Creative Commons Attribution, Non-commercial, No-derivatives (CC-BY-NC-ND) license if requested by the authors
Financial support and Article processing charges
Manatti is a journal published by the Faculty of Graduate Studies, University of Jaffna. The journal does not charge for review, publication, or other related processes. All the costs related to publication are borne by the Faculty of Graduate Studies, University of Jaffna. The editorial and advisory board members, including chief editor and associate editors, are volunteering their service and no payments will be made for any of the activities related to the journal publication.

Policy on Plagiarism
Manuscripts that comply with the guidelines will be checked for plagiarism. iThenticate gives a ‘similarity index’, which is the word-by-word copying of materials from previously published literature. Manuscripts with similarity index from all sources more than 20% or from single source more than 5%, will be rejected or returned to the authors without peer review for corrective action.
Publication ethics and policies
A submission declaration for a journal should include following that affirm the integrity and originality of the work being submitted.
- Originality: A statement confirming that the work is original and has not been published or submitted elsewhere.
- Authorship: Declaration that all authors have contributed to the work and agree to its submission.
- Conflict of Interest: Disclosure of any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the research.
- Ethical Compliance: Assurance that the research complies with ethical standards, especially in studies involving human or animal subjects.
- Funding Sources: Acknowledgment of any financial support received for the research.
- Permissions: Confirmation that necessary permissions for using copyrighted material have been obtained.
- Data Availability: Statement on data availability supporting the findings, if applicable.
- Acknowledgments: Recognition of any individuals or organizations that contributed to the research but do not meet authorship criteria.
- Credit Author statement: Recognizing individual author contributions, reducing authorship disputes and facilitating collaboration. Credit author statements should be provided during the submission process and will appear above the acknowledgment section of the published paper as: Conceptualization, Methodology, Data curing, Investigation, Formal analysis, Validation, Resources, Visualization, Supervision, Project administration, Fund acquisition, Writing – Original Draft, Writing -Review & Editing
Authorship
All authors should have made substantial contributions to at least one of the following:
- Concept and Design: Involvement in the formulation of the research question, study design, and methodology.
- Data Acquisition: Contribution to the collection or acquisition of data, including experiments, surveys, or literature reviews.
- Data Analysis and Interpretation: Engagement in the analysis of data and the interpretation of results.
- Drafting the Manuscript: Participation in writing the initial draft of the manuscript or revising it critically for important intellectual content.
All authors should agree to be accountable for all aspects of the work, ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.
The journal generally does not allow changes to authorship after manuscript submission. Authors must carefully consider the authorship list and order at submission. Only in exceptional circumstances will the editor consider adding, deleting, or rearranging authors. Such requests must come from the corresponding author with written confirmation from all the authors.
Declaration of interests
When submitting a manuscript to a journal, authors are often required to submit a declaration of interests. This declaration discloses any potential conflicts of interest that might influence the research or its presentation. Here are some common types of interests that authors may need to declare:
- Financial Interests: Funding sources, Employment, Consultancy, Intellectual property
- Personal Interests: Relationships with individuals or organizations involved in the research, Ideological beliefs
- Other Interests: Competing interests, Gifts or honoraria, Expert witness
